Free Games with Gold for August 2015
Shooters and stealth this month
Microsoft has revealed the new additions to the Games with Gold program for August 2015.
First up, following up on its appearance last month on the PS Plus program, is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Available from August 1-31 on Xbox One, this latest chapter in the stealth-action series is set in 1975 during the Cold War era. The player takes on the role of Big Boss, as he infiltrates a U.S. military black site in Cuba to rescue a couple of high-value allies who are being held captive.
Next, from August 16-September 15 on Xbox One, is How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition. Playable solo or in coop, How to Survive drops you onto an island with nothing but some basic tools, and challenges you to survive the elements and zombies.
Xbox 360 subscribers, meanwhile, get to enjoy a dual serving of the Metro shooter franchise. Metro 2033 will be available from August 1-15, and Metro: Last Light from August 16-31. Both titles are set in the Moscow subway system in the decades following a nuclear holocaust. The games combine first person shooter elements with survival horror and stealth.
As always, these titles are available as free downloads for a limited time, for qualifying paid Xbox Live Gold members in all markets where Xbox Live is available.
