Yet another E3 flew by, and what a busy show it was! We got to check out some great upcoming titles, and there is plenty for gamers to look forward to this holiday season, and in the year to come! Our staff has once again voted, and we present our Top 10 games for E3 2011. It was tough to narrow down, so to avoid further fist fights, we are arranging our picks in purely alphabetical order.
Battlefield 3
Battlefield 3 will feature the maximalist combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It will reintroduce several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC.

BioShock Infinite
If there was the most emotionally involving game at E3, Infinite would have to be it. From a story, character, and setting perspective, there was nothing else quite like it. The gameplay is yet to be experienced, but given the other merits of the title that we saw during the demo, this is most definitely a game to look forward to.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
A new engine means a ton of improvements, new conversation system, revamped AI, and satisfying combat. With the element of dragons and shout powers added to the mix, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is possibly the most exciting RPG to watch out for this fall. It offers plenty to be excited about, not just for series’ fans but all RPG players.

Where:

Forza Motorsport 4
With Forza 4, Microsoft and Turn 10 look to continue developing their brand into a strong contender in the genre, this time by offering a host of new features and Kinect implementation. Forza Motorsport 4 looks like a title that will meet fan expectations in adding significant features to the franchise.

Metro: Last Light
Metro Last Light looks to be like a very worthy sequel to 2033. It’s a title that aims to keep all the thrills and intensity of battling humans and mutants alike in the atmospheric world of Moscow underground. Improved stealth, new weapons, new enemies, and smarter AI are just a few things that fans can look forward to. Given the immense atmosphere and excellent visuals that were seen in the demo, Last Light looks to be a surefire hit for fans of the franchise.

The list continues on page 2….

Modern Warfare 3
This looks to be like yet another loud and explosive shooting gallery, in classic Call of Duty style that many gamers are used to. With action taking place on the streets of famous cities this time around, it could be an intriguing change from the usual conflicts in mostly distant locations. If loud explosions and a huge adrenalin rush is what you’re looking for, Modern Warfare 3 will surely deliver when it releases in November.
When: November 8, 2011
Where:

Prey 2
Prey 2 has little in common with the original Prey, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, even for a directly named sequel. The game offers a strange yet ultimately exciting mix of cover-based action, RPG-like decision making, and first person platforming. Only time will tell how well these elements mix together in the final product, but from what we saw, this is an ambitious effort worth getting excited for.
When: Q2, 2012
Where:

Saints Row The Third
If you’ve played previous Saint’s Row titles, you can already know what to expect. An open world with a ton of absurdity and crude humor, wrapped in a storyline and side missions to keep the action going. Saint’s Row The Third promises to be a wild continuation of the franchise that will offer an alternative to the generic everyday third person action games.
When: November 15, 2011
Where:

Tomb Raider
With self-titled Tomb Raider, Square Enix aims to reboot the franchise, to the true meaning of the word. This is the story of how Lara became the action girl that we’ve all come to know. Starring Lara at a rather early and fragile age, players will see her transform into a survivor as she is thrown into an extreme situation. The game is set to hit in 2012, and it already looks like a great attempt to reboot an aging franchise.
When: Q2, 2012
Where:

Uncharted 3
From the classic cover-based shooting mechanics, clever enemies, and even some jokes thrown into the dialogue during the action, Uncharted 3 looks to set the bar high once again. Given the co-op action we had a chance to try, it might just pull it off when the game releases on PlayStation 3 in November.
