Left 4 Dead 2 public demo available
Anybody can get on Steam now to download and play a demo of the zombie shooter sequel, Left 4 Dead 2.
Zombie fans will be pleased to know that the PC demo for Left 4 Dead 2 has been unlocked on steam. Previously it was available for preload for a few days, now you can download and play the demo to test it out.
The demo contains the first two maps from the Parish campaign so it is only a very small taste of the full game which features 5 full campaigns.
L4D2 features 4 new characters and is set in the New Orleans area. It will include, coop, versus, survival game modes. Also included is the new "Scavenge" game mode where players collect gas canisters to keep a generator operational.
L4D2 recently caused some news when the Australian version was revealed to be severely neutered in regards to the gore / violence aspect, even changing gameplay by removing uncommon infected. Read our L4D2 AU censorship article
If you live in Australia you can however restore full violence with the demo as described here in picture format by Kotaku. Changing the appID number to 510 in the steam.inf file located in the main folder.

Demo will most likely no be available after the game is released, as they did with the first game, so get in quick before you miss a chance to try it out.
