Free PlayStation Plus games for August 2017
A variety of titles from across multiple genres up for grabs in the last month of summer
Sony has announced the lineup of free PS Plus games for August 2017.
First up, subscribers on PS4 can download Just Cause 3, a vast open-world action adventure, with a focus on action and destruction. The Mediterranean republic of Medici is suffering under the brutal control of General Di Ravello, a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power. Enter Rico Rodriguez, a man on a mission to destroy the General's hold on power by any means necessary. The second free PS4 game is Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, a standalone expansion to Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. After being shipwrecked in what is now known as Haiti and left without weapons or a crew, Adewale starts to assist the locals in an effort to assemble a crew and steal a ship. The more he helps, however, the more he is drawn into the Maroon slave community.
On PS3, subscribers can download Super Motherload, a 1 to 4-player co-op digging adventure with a fully voiced cast of Soviet characters and a procedurally-generated world. The other free PS3 title is Snakeball. It is a funky, futuristic sport set in a vibrant arena where you glide across the dazzling disco floor on your hoversnake, collecting balls and scoring goals.
And on PS Vita, subscribers can download Downwell (cross buy with PS4). Make your way further and further down into the darkness filled with nasty creatures and mysterious secrets to collect the spectacular red gems scattered about the rocks. The second free Vita game is Level 22, a game where players guide an office worker to his desk without being spotted, and avoid getting fired for being late.
These games will be free for PlayStation Plus members starting on the first Tuesday of the month.
