Sony celebrates one year of Instant Game Collection
64 titles have been given away for free over the past 12 months
Sony has reminded gamers that this week PS Plus service has reached a milestone: the one year anniversary of the Instant Game Collection.
PlayStation Plus has been around for three years now, and at E3 2012 the Instant Game Collection made its debut. In the first year of the Game Collection, if you own both a PlayStation 3 and a PlayStation Vita, 64 games were provided to you free of charge, including blockbusters and indie games.
Year Two of the service kicked off with the announcement that DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition will be available in the Instant Game Collection at launch and one digital title will rotate in each month. Sony also debuted the June lineup for PS3, including the introduction of three new titles: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (single-player), Little Big Planet Karting and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
The PlayStation Plus service costs $49.99 per year and offers other benefits such as automatic updating, cloud game saves, and more. A subscription to the service will be required on PlayStation 4 to play multiplayer games.
