Source claims next Xbox and PlayStation to reveal at E3 2012
A new round of rumors say that both Sony and Microsoft plan to reveal new hardware at this year's E3
UK games industry outlet MCV has reported that both the next Xbox 720 and the PlayStation 4 will be shown at this year's E3 in June, spots IGN.
MCV's online editor Ben Parfitt said "Obviously we can't reveal our sources. But you have my personal word on this - the source is exemplary, 100% concrete, ultra high level."
Microsoft has long been rumoured to detail its next-gen plans at E3 2012, and MCV's third-party publishing sources claim the firm had signaled to partners this will happen.
This may potentially mark the very first time in the show’s 17-year history that three fresh, rival console formats will be directly comparable at the same time.
Nintendo's WiiU system, announced at E3 2011, is expected to receive a release date and price this year. There's little doubt that both Microsoft and Sony aim to compete with the WiiU release by teasing their own hardware.
E3 2012 takes place June 5th through 7th, with all major conference announcements happening on June 4th.
