Sony PlayStation Network return delayed
Service Restoration Update from Sony indicates that further testing will be needed
Although Sony has begun the process of restoring the service through internal testing of the new system, there is still no word on when PSN can return.
According to PS Blog, Sony is still "working to confirm the security of the network infrastructure, as well as working with a variety of outside entities to confirm with them of the security of the system."

During the press conference in Japan last week, based on what Sony knew at the time, PSN was expected to return this week. However, word is that Sony was "unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system."
In other words, it could be a while yet before PSN returns and all testing is completed. No new estimated timeline was given.
