DoWII: Last Stand mode becomes stand-alone title
Popular co-operative Last Stand mode from Dawn of War II - Retribution released as a standalone downloadable title
THQ has announced that the mode made popular by Retribution will be released as standalone software. Titled Dawn of War II: Retribution - "The Last Standalone", it allow new comers to play all of the content available for the Last Stand without the need to own a copy of Retribution or any experience with RTS games. Players who then wish to experience competitive multiplayer or the single player campaign for Dawn of War II – Retribution can then upgrade their product to the full version at reduced price.
Jeff Lydell, Producer of Dawn of War II Retribution commented: “We saw this as a unique opportunity to introduce new players to the Dawn of War franchise as well as expanding the player base for the already popular Last Stand mode.”
Dawn of War II - The Last Standalone is scheduled to be available to purchase from Steam for $10 at some point today, April 20th 2011.
