Black Ops patched for PC
Treyarch has released a patch for Black Ops on PC that will help reduce some of the stutter bug. More patches are on the way
Many PC users have been dealing with an array of hardware and connection problems for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The issues range from minor lag-like stutters to huge framerate drops. A patch released yesterday will alleviate the stuttering problem for some users but more patches are on the way.
Josh Olin (JD_2020) has posted some more information on the Steam forums about the fix, some of which has been made server side.
Patch Notes:
- GameServers.com has bumped sv_maxrate to 25000 across all servers to reduce lag.
- GameServers.com continues to improve official server distribution in various worldwide regions.
- Friends fix for join in progress and Friends tab in server browser.
- Performance improvement for dual and quad core.
- Improved connectivity with Black Ops Rcon tool.
In progress fixes
- GPU hitching on certain graphics cards.
- Incomplete server browser results.
- Improvements to Quickmatch joins (results with better ping and reduced lag).
- Zombies "The game session is no longer available" error.
Patches are automatically applied for Steam users and although it may not remove the stutter bug for all players it’s good to know they are working hard to fix the problems.
