Sony dedicated to 3D technology
Sony is planning to lead home 3D technology with the release of a new line of 3D Bravia televisions next year, PS3 support for 3D games.
The company is expected to make its PlayStation 3 games, Blu-ray players and Vaio laptops compatible with the new technology.
"Today, 3D is clearly on its way to the mass market,” CEO Howard Stringer was due to tell the audience at the IFA technology trade show in Berlin yesterday, according to the Financial Times. "As with high definition a few years back, there are a variety of issues yet to be addressed. But the 3D train is on the track, and we at Sony are ready to drive it home."
Sony is expected to unveil a cost-effective lineup of it's Bravia line of HD Televisions that support 3D Technology by late 2010, with PS3 leading the charge as the platform to deliver those 3D images via movies and games.
