DayZ creator plans to step down
Creator moving on later this year, game will continue development at Bohemia Interactive
DayZ creator Dean Hall plans to step down as lead designer of the multiplayer survival game.
Hall plans to leave Bohemia Interactive by the end of the year, to set up a new studio in New Zealand. He explained that he wasn't originally intending to be around for 2014, but claimed it would be unfair to the community to leave.
DayZ started as a mod for Arma 2, but has since been spun off into a standalone entry. The rights to the game were later purchased by Arma creators Bohemia Interactive, where the current development team is located.
DayZ is currently in Alpha.
