Sony ending online support for MAG, Socom 4

Online play will no longer be available after 2013

Posted on

In a brief update on the official forums, Sony has announced that it will be ending online support for multiple titles early next year.

In the final days of January 2014, gamers will no longer be able to play online with MAG, SOCOM 4, and SOCOM: Confrontation.

No reasons or explanations were provided. SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs launched in 2011, but its online community was likely undermined by the ongoing PSN outage during those months. The game still has a single player campaign to offer players.

MAG, meanwhile, is essentially being taken offline entirely, as it is a multiplayer-only shooter. It launched back in January 2010.

Both games were created by Zipper Interactive, which was closed by Sony on March 30, 2012.
