New Game Network Announces Record Growth In 2012
Gaming Website continues to draw in larger audiences, Game of the Year winners revealed
CALGARY, AB (January 18, 2012) -- New Game Network (/), a rapidly growing video game publication, today announced the 2012 year-end performance results as well as the list of winners for the annual Game of the Year Awards.
Following up on strong performances in the previous 12 months, the website’s growth continued in 2012 attracting more than 1 million visitors and over 1.5 million page views*. Social media presence of the website brand also nearly doubled through the year, on both Twitter and Facebook.
“We are really happy with the rapid growth of our publication,” said executive editor and co-founder Alex. “There’s no doubt that 2012 was a great year for our publication and we hope to continue that momentum into the future.”
New Game Network’s audience grew with the increased quality and frequency of published content. Over 10 staff members are currently contributing editorial content to the publication, the highest number of active staff members that the website has ever seen. Those writers produced a record 181 articles in 2012. Readership also expanded thanks to on-going web wide syndication, including existing partners like Google News and newly added partners like GameRankings.
"We have built a strong group of writers who are passionate about gaming and committed to producing articles that are detailed and accurate," said co-founder and web architect Ben. "The 2012 GOTY awards represent the culmination of all their hard work this year. We hope our readers enjoy reading them as much as we have enjoyed writing them."
Also, New Game Network has last week revealed the full list of winners for the annual Game of the Year Awards. Voted on by staff, the winners included the best video games of 2012 such as Far Cry 3, The Walking Dead, Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored, and many more.
