Alan Wake coming to PC in February, supports Steamworks
Survival action game from Remedy to release on PC next month, minimum specs posted
Rememdy has released an updated FAQ on the official forums in regards to Alan Wake on PC.
It has been revealed that the game will arrive in February via Steam, including full integration with the service such as cloud saves and achievements. The game won't require GFWL.
There won't be a demo, but the PC version is promised to be optimized, including fully customizable keyboard and mouse support. The PC version is being developed together with a small team from Remedy as well as a team at Finnish independent developer, Nitro Games. Alan Wake PC is a Remedy self-published title.
The game is still being optimized, but the current system requirements are as follows:
OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
PROCESSOR: AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz, or Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz
MEMORY: 2 GB
HARD DRIVE: 8 GB
VIDEO CARD: ATI Radeon 3650, 4450, 5550, 6450 or higher (per series), GeForce 8600GT, 9500GT, GT120, GT430, GT520 (per series); DirectX 10 compatible, at least 512MB RAM
SOUND CARD: DirectX 9.0c compatible
INPUT: Mouse and keyboard, Xbox360 controller also supported
Alan Wake was originally announced as a Windows Vista and DX10 seller, but was later downgraded to being an Xbox 360 exclusive (released in May 2010). The PC version is being released without direct Microsoft support.
