Fans select Ray Rice for the NFL Blitz cover
First fan-selected cover for a digital sports release
On the past Saturday night during the 2011 Spike VGA, fans voted for the first-ever EA SPORTS digital cover athlete, choosing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for the NFL Blitz cover.
Hall of Famer Jerry Rice announced the news, revealing Ray Rice as the fan-voted winner at the end of the show. Rice won over Pro Bowlers Roddy White and Patrick Willis.
The remake of NFL Blitz from EA SPORTS promises the exciting tackles and over-the-top action of the legendary 1990’s arcade hit. Featuring the twitch gameplay and controls of the original game, combined with a new single-player and cooperative game modes, NFL Blitz will support HD for the first time with 60fps/60Hz gameplay.
NFL Blitz is developed by EA Tiburon, and is set to release on January 4th through Xbox LIVE Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points and PlayStation Network for $14.99.
