Torchlight 2 release date expected in July
Runic Games expects the game to ship this summer, due to Xbox 360 version delays
Runic Games has revealed that Torchlight II is planning to ship this summer. CEO Max Schaefer told Digital Spy that work on the Xbox Live version of Torchlight has moved the game beyond its expected May-June release period.
"I'd say that the Xbox project, having to do the extra work with the interface, has pushed us back a little bit, so we're probably talking July right now for Torchlight II," he explained.
"It's going great, however. We've actually got some optimisations and technical improvements that went into making the Xbox version that we've been able to go back and implement into Torchlight II for PC."
It would seem that the developers are aiming for a simultaneous launch for the sequel. The original Torchlight will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade on March 9.
