Fortnite next-gen improvements detailed
Increased performance and faster loading for the online shooter
Epic Games has announced the planned Fortnite improvements on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
The Series X and PS5 features include 4K Resolution at 60 FPS; Dynamic Visuals and Physics; upgraded loading performance; and Split Screen now supports 60 FPS.
In addition to general vibration support, PS5 players will feel new haptic trigger feedback for ranged weapons on the new DualSense controller. Fortnite also supports PS5’s Activities, starting with the ability to go straight into the Battle Royale Lobby with either Solo, Duos, or Squads selected.
Crossplay remains available, and your progression and cosmetics carry over to the new platforms. On Xbox Series X|S, if you’ve transferred your Xbox profile from Xbox One, just download the Xbox Series X|S release of the game and get back into the action. On PlayStation 5, just download Fortnite from the PlayStation Store and log in with your Epic or PlayStation Network account.
Fortnite next-gen version launches alongside the new consoles next week.
