Cyberpunk 2077 internal files stolen
Developer CD Projekt Red refuses to pay ransom, files may become public
Developer CD Projekt Red has announced that internal files from the studio have been stolen, and may contain information about the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077.
In a statement on Twitter, the company says that the files were taken by unknown persons, who then demanded ransom for their safe return. The company has refused, and wants to let fans know that information about the upcoming game may soon find its way online.
However, the developers note that the stolen info about Cyberpunk is outdated, so there is no serious threat to their plans for the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 was announced way back in 2012, and no new information about the game has been released since.
