E3 attendance grows for 2014 show
More attendees, less exhibits this year
Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced that 48,900 video game industry professionals, investor analysts, journalists, and retailers from more than 100 countries attended last week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.
Approximately 200 exhibitors showcased the latest in computer and video game hardware and software, compared to 230 last year. E3 attendees secured more than 28,000 total hotel room nights and generated nearly $40 million in revenue for the city, says ESA.
E3 2014 broke its previous social media numbers across all social channels recording more than two million posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram combined. E3 dominated trending lists on social media with more than 100 unique E3-related topics reaching the trending list in the United States and worldwide.
E3 2015 will take place on June 16-18, 2015, in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
