Neversoft merges with Infinity Ward
Two development studios under Activision to become one
Developer Neversoft and its staff have been folded into Infinity Ward, it is being confirmed.
First reported last week, the news became official as the studio confirmed the merger on Twitter. The new, larger studio will keep the Infinity Ward name.
Infinity Ward was founded in 2002 and is best known for creating the massively popular Call of Duty and five other installments in the Call of Duty franchise.
Neversoft Entertainment (or simply Neversoft) was founded in July 1994. The studio worked on Tony Hawk's and Guitar Hero video game franchises for most of its lifetime.
Both developers are subsidiaries of publisher Activision.
