Tales from the Borderlands first details
Episodic series still expected this year, same pricing model as other Telltale franchises
Telltale Games has provided the first details on their upcoming new title, Tales from the Borderlands.
Pandora has a wealth of stories to offer, and Gearbox wants them told. Telltale is going to collaborate with players through the choices to get some of those stories out there, and to create a brand new Borderlands experience. If you play Borderlands simply for the sake of shooting stuff, then you might not be a fan of Tales, but if you enjoy being on Pandora, and/or you’ve enjoyed The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, then this might be a game series for you.
Tales from the Borderlands is an episodic series that’ll be $4.99 per episode (or you can save with the Season Pass). The series takes place after the events of Borderlands 2and its DLC. You’re going to play two different viewpoints. Rhys works for Hyperion; he’s a company man with grand ambitions that have been thrown off the rails. Fiona is a fast-talking con artist, with very few people left on Pandora she hasn’t swindled one way or another.
Instead of tough moral choices, players will be presented with a couple extremely desirable options - picking what they feel is the better of the options to choose. The two playable characters - Rhys and Fiona, are both driven by greed, so that will likely come into play as well.
Telltale vows that players can expect to receive a new episode roughly every five to eight weeks. Episode one supposedly hits in 2014, after The Walking Dead: Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us have concluded.
Tales from the Borderlands will be released on PC, with other platforms to be confirmed.
