Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes price reduced
Konami reduces next-gen price, offers DLC that will carry forward to Phantom Pain
Konami has announced new details about its upcoming relase, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Players who purchase Ground Zeroes early via retail or digital will get exclusive DLC for use within The Phantom Pain. The DLC will only be available in the first batch of the retail version and for a limited period of time for the digital version. The DLC provides players with additional resources for a Mother Base area that will be available in The Phantom Pain.
In addition, prisoners of war and VIPs rescued in GZ will be added to the Mother Base staff in The Phantom Pain, providing GZ players an early in-game advantage; character skins will also be able to be carried over.
The concept of Mother Base was first seen in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, where players could recruit and level up soldiers into their military outpost and create new items and weapons via research.
Konami has also announced that it will offer both physical and digital versions of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for an SRP of $29.99. This brings the game in-line with the current generaion versions of the game, that remain at the SRP of $29.99 for retail and via download for SRP $19.99.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be available beginning March 18, 2014 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
