War of the Vikings announced

Paradox Interactive has announced War of the Vikings, a new multiplayer game built upon the technology behind War of the Roses.

Once again developed by Fatshark, War of the Vikings is a new standalone entry into franchise that will pull players into the Viking Age, challenging them to design a personalized warrior and sack England as a Norseman – or defend it as aSaxon.

The title features close-quarters combat, authentically inspired settings and weaponry, more customization options, and large-scale 64-player battles.

Interested players can apply to join the Alpha test. War of the Vikings will be released for PC in Q1 2014.
