Activision Blizzard reports Q2 FY2013 results
Publisher had top two best-selling games in North America and Europe combined
Activision Blizzard has today announced financial results for the second quarter of 2013.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2013, Activision Blizzard’s net revenues were $1.05 billion, as compared with $1.08 billion for the second quarter of 2012. Net revenues from digital channels represented a record 63% of the company’s total revenues.
For the first six months of 2013, Activision Blizzard had the top-two best-selling games in North America and Europe combined, with Skylanders Giants and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. As of July 31, 2013, the Skylanders franchise has generated, life-to-date, more than $1.5 billion in worldwide retail sales.
Blizzard Entertainment expects to release Diablo III for consoles in September.
Last week, Activision Blizzard announced that it reached an agreement under which the company will buy itself back from parent company Vivendi.
Based on its second quarter results, Activision Blizzard is raising its full year outlook, but the estimates do not include any potential impact from the transaction with Vivendi.
