Aliens: Colonial Marines cancelled for Wii U

Following a few weeks of silence regarding the Wii U port of Aliens: Colonial Marines, publisher SEGA has said that the game will no longer be released.

All hopes were dashed by a statement issued to Joystiq regarding the situation. "Sega can confirm that the Wii U SKU of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development," said the publisher.

The game has suffered through a rocky launch and some negative feedback from the community. We also thought it was not that great. It's possible that the negative backlash and poor reception have sealed the fate of the Wii U version, once said to be the definitive edition of the game.

Aliens: Colonial Marines was released on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in February.
