Canadian Videogame Awards Finalists announced for 2013
Games from Ubisoft lead the nominations
The finalists in sixteen categories were announced today for the upcoming Canadian Videogame Awards, which will be held in Vancouver on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
Over 100 nominations were received this year from all parts of Canada, with 25 games represented in the list of finalists. All awards are for work developed in Canada and released in 2012. A body of industry experts from across the country will vote on the winners in each category.
The list of finalists include: Game of the Year - Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3, Mark of the Ninja, Mass Effect 3, and Papo & Yo. Best Console Game - Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3, FIFA Soccer 13, Mass Effect 3, Sleeping Dogs. Best Game Design - Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3 , Mark of the Ninja, Mass Effect 3, Sound Shapes. Best Original Music - Assassin's Creed III, Mass Effect 3, Papo & Yo, Sleeping Dogs, Sound Shapes. Best Technology - Assassin's Creed III, Mark of the Ninja, MechWarrior Online, Prototype 2.
Finally, the Fan Choice Awards to be voted on by the public includes nominations Assassin's Creed III, Batman Arkham City Armored Edition, Far Cry 3, Mark of the Ninja, Mass Effect 3, Papo & Yo, Prototype 2, Sleeping Dogs, Sound Shapes, and Waveform.
The CVAs will be broadcast across the country on Citytv and G4 Canada through the Rogers Network.
