BF 2142 Patch 1.51 - Northern Strike Free
Details have been released on the upcoming patch for Battlefield 2142. The expansion pack, Northern Strike, will be made free for everybody. Game is coming to Steam.
Battlefield 2142 is getting a new patch and with it is coming a whole range of freebies much like the release of the Battlefield 2 patch a little while ago. It includes:
- No DRM method on the exe as with BF2 (No more SafeDisc, PACE or SecuROM (depending on which version of BF2142 you have) and no more errors from EADM saying you need to log in to EADM to verify ownership even if you are logged in)
- Operation Blue Pearl
- Two brand new maps from community modder Jason Brice (more on this later)
- Northern Strike will be available to EVERYONE
DRM removed, a few new maps and all of Nothern Strike for free? Sounds good to us. Northern Strike itself features 3 maps, a few new vehicles and even a different game mode called Assault Lines. Battlefield 2142 is still fairly active online so it's a good chance to hop back online for some futuristic warfare.
Also included in the news is that BF2142 will be coming to Steam and Direct2Drive in the near future.
