"I can confirm that there's not been a project that has raised as much as this one in such a short timeframe," a Kickstarter rep told Joystiq. As of 2pm EST, the project has earned over $750k - and the donations can continue for another month.
Double Fine lets users donate money in tiers, anywhere from $15 to $5000, in return offering special considerations for the game's release and development.
In related news, Minecraft creator Markus 'Notch' Peterson had offered to help fund a sequel to Psychonauts, however Double Fine isn't ready to announce the title and will instead focus on the now-funded adventure game instead.
