Gears of War 3 Soundtrack detailed
Original Music Score for the upcoming action game coming soon
Sumthing Else Music Works, through its licensing relationship with Epic Games, has released Gears of War 3 The Soundtrack.
The Soundtrack will be released simultaneously with the game's launch, to retail outlets through Sumthing Else Music Works and for digital download at Amazon MP3, iTunes and other digital music sites.
Gears of War 3 The Soundtrack features the original music score by Steve Jablonsky who also wrote the music for Gears of War 2, Michael Bay's The Island, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Transformers movies. The veteran film composer created nearly 80 minutes of new music for the latest installment of the Gears of War franchise.
Composer Steve Jablonsky said: "Gears of War 3 is huge. It was like scoring a summer blockbuster. I love the guys at Epic because to them, the characters and the story are just as important as the gameplay. Yes, the gameplay is awesome and badass, but there is a ton of depth to these characters, and I think that's a big part of why so many people love this franchise. Epic's commitment to story allows me to dig deeper musically and really have some fun with the score."
In Gears of War 3, players fight on as Marcus Fenix, the grizzled war hero and leader of Delta Squad. Eighteen months after the fall of the last human city in Gears of War 2, the war against the Locust rages on, but a new enemy has emerged. Deep beneath the surface, a fearsome new threat, the Lambent, is infecting the planet from within.
Developed exclusively for Xbox 360, Gears of War 3 is coming to stores on September 20th, 2011.
