EA Origin store offers deep discounts on user birthdays

In a move to attract more customers, users get a big discounts on their big day

Posted on
It has been confirmed that users get a nice birthday present from EA's new online store, Origin.com.

If you are already signed up with Origin, expect to receive a whooping 25%-off coupon on your big day. The news has been confirmed by one of our own staff getting the email, and in addition the discount can be applied to any title - including preorders.

So, if you want to get your Battlefield 3 for $47, just wait until your birthday comes around and enjoy your coupon from Origin.

This is yet another move by EA to promote their new online store, in hopes of gaining a share of the market currently dominated by the likes of Steam and Direct2Drive. It's significant not only in the large discount offered, but also thanks to being able to be applied to preorders.
