Cyberpunk 2077 Crossover Brings V's Samurai Jacket to Arena Breakout: Infinite

Find out all the details about the Cyberpunk 2077 crossover with Arena Breakout: Infinite, including teaser content, new features, and what's coming next.

Posted on

On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 announced a crossover with Arena Breakout: Infinite through its official X account, formerly Twitter. The teaser video released showed a person stepping out of a vehicle wearing the Samurai jacket associated with V, the main character of Cyberpunk 2077. After the brief clip, a promotional image confirmed the collaboration. No release date or further content details were provided, though both companies stated the crossover is “coming.”

Cyberpunk 2077 posted the phrase “Welcome to Night City, Operators!” alongside the teaser, while Arena Breakout: Infinite shared its own version: “Welcome to Kamona, Chooms!” The teaser did not contain audio dialogue or a breakdown of what would be included in the crossover. As of now, the only confirmed visual reference is the appearance of the Samurai jacket in Arena Breakout: Infinite.

This crossover follows previous Cyberpunk 2077 collaborations, which have included Fortnite, Rocket League, and Balatro. While the nature of the collaboration with Arena Breakout: Infinite has not been formally described, the teaser and social media reactions have led to speculation that the partnership will involve in-game cosmetics, such as character skins inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.

Arena Breakout: Infinite, developed by Morefun Studios, is a tactical extraction first-person shooter that launched its second season, titled Crimson Edge, earlier in July 2025. The update introduced a new boss, new weapons, expanded map content, new gameplay modes, and several limited-time event features. Among the added mechanics were in-raid storage boxes, allowing players to keep valuable gear safe during a match without requiring extraction. Other additions include TV Station Monitors and a ping system to mark locations, similar to features seen in Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone.

In terms of reward systems, Arena Breakout: Infinite has recently introduced mechanics resembling gambling-style features. The game currently uses Twitch “Lucky Drops,” where players receive one loot ticket for every 30 minutes of watch time during specific campaign windows – tickets can be redeemed for randomized in-game items. During Twitch Rivals events, the game has also distributed rewards, such as cases or memberships, through drops.

Players have also compared the game’s raid risk-reward loop to gambling, as it involves bringing high-value gear into matches with the chance of either losing or extracting with greater rewards. However, Arena Breakout: Infinite does not currently include loot boxes or microtransaction-based gambling systems.

Cyberpunk 2077, developed by CD Projekt Red, has not implemented any gambling-like systems involving microtransactions. In 2018, CD Projekt Red publicly stated the game would not feature loot boxes. And still, the game has not introduced any mechanics that involve randomized real-money purchases, nor is there any indication of such features being tested or planned.

Cyberpunk 2077 has also continued to expand through content updates. The latest, Update 2.3, was released after a delay and includes several additions: a revamped Delamain taxi system that allows passive transport through Night City; expanded vehicle options, including more cars and motorcycles; customizable twintone paint options; and an autodrive feature that lets players navigate to marked destinations without manual input.

Earlier in July 2025, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 was officially confirmed at Anime Expo 2025. Additionally, the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition has been released for Mac devices, making the game available to a new platform.

Player reactions to the crossover announcement have varied. Some responses focused on the cosmetic potential of the Samurai jacket in Arena Breakout: Infinite, while others questioned the status of long-requested Cyberpunk 2077 features, such as New Game+. As of now, CD Projekt Red has not confirmed a release date or development status for New Game+. Post-Update 2.3 feedback has also included reports of traffic AI issues during autodrive sequences, with some players noting that non-player characters behave unpredictably—such as crashing into other vehicles or colliding with pedestrians.

The teaser announcement has received international engagement. One Polish user asked, “When will the game actually look like this?” while an Italian player reacted enthusiastically to the promotional reveal.

As of this writing, no additional content details, launch windows, or feature lists have been provided by CD Projekt Red or Morefun Studios. Both developers have confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 and Arena Breakout: Infinite crossover is in development and will be released at an unspecified future date.
