E3 operator ESA and organizer ReedPop end agreement
Not a single event took place under the deal
The ESA, owners and operators of the E3 event, and organizing company ReedPop have announced an end to their agreement, reports GI.
Signed just two years ago, the deal was meant for ReedPop to take over E3 management as the event has been losing interest from fans in recent years. However, not a single such event took place, with E3 2022 and 2023 getting cancelled. The choice to end the agreement was apparently a mutual decision.
The ESA has also reportedly informed the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is the traditional home of E3, that it will not be putting a show on there in 2024. However, ESA insists that E3 will return at some point.
In-person E3 2020-2022 events were also cancelled during the global COVID 19 pandemic. The most recent E3 to take place was in 2019.
