Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass prices to increase
Microsoft will raise the hardware and subscription retail prices this summer
Microsoft is planning to raise the price of Xbox Series X hardware and the Xbox Game Pass services in August, it has been announced.
Reported by The Verge, Xbox Series X prices will go up in most countries around the world, with exceptions being US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. The new price point will be £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 across most European markets, CAD $649.99 in Canada, and AUD $799.99 in Australia.
The Xbox Series S is not changing its pricing.
Further, the cost of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will increase starting July 6th, from $14.99 per month to $16.99 USD. The base Xbox Game Pass will also be raised by $1 more monthly. The PC Game Pass will not be affected.
Competitor Sony also raised its PS5 prices last summer.
