PLAION to merge three of its publishing labels
Consolidation of Deep Silver, Prime Matter, and Ravenscourt planned
Major media company Plaion (formerly Koch Media) has confirmed it has plans to consolidate all three of its publishing labels together - Deep Silver, Prime Matter, and Ravenscourt.
As reported by GI, the goal is to produce fewer titles at a higher quality, and simplify publishing operations. Some jobs may be affected by this process. The change will take place over the next year or longer, and this does not mean any titles are getting cancelled.
Deep Silver is probably the best known brand as they publish a wide variety of games since early 2000s, from Dead Island to Metro 2033 and Saints row franchises. Prime Matter is a recent newcomer and handled Scars Above, The Chant, and upcoming Payday 3 among others. The Ravenscourt brand have thus far focused on Road 96 franchise.
Plaion themselves are a subsidiary of the large Swedish video game and media holding company Embracer Group.
