PlayStation VR2 launch date announced

Sony has announced the launch details for the PlayStation VR2.

The new virtual reality headset for PS5 is officially launching on February 22, 2023. The PlayStation VR2 bundle will launch at $549.99 USD / $749.99 CAD. It includes the PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones.

There will also be the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle - which will retail for $599.99 USD / $819.99 CAD. This bundle includes the same content as the main unit, with the addition of a PS Store voucher for a digital copy of Horizon Call of the Mountain.

Also launching on the same day is PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station for $49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD. Players can charge the PS VR2 Sense controller through a simple click-in design, without having to connect to a PS5 console – freeing up the console’s USB ports.

During this initial launch phase, players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg will initially be able to pre-order PlayStation VR2 solely through PlayStation’s online store at direct.playstation.com. Pre-orders will begin on November 15, and players may begin to register for pre-orders starting today. Orders from direct.playstation.com for PlayStation VR2 headsets and bundles will ship throughout the week of launch.

In other markets, PlayStation VR2 will be sold at participating retailers, with pre-orders beginning on November 15. Information will be provided through participating local retailers in these regions.

11 new PS VR2 games were also announced today, with details available over at the PS Blog. Sony is expecting more than 20 titles to be ready at launch.
