Alone in the Dark remake announced
The horror series will return with a new story
THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Interactive have announced Alone in the Dark, another reboot for the horror franchise.
The new game will be a remake of the original trilogy, promising a new story and mythical places to explore. It does incorporate characters, places, and themes from the original ’90s trilogy. It will be written by Mikael Hedberg, writer of SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Our Alone in the Dark is set in the gothic American south during the 1920s – a noir setting with classic Lovecraftian horror elements. You’ll explore environments, solve puzzles, and get into combat.
The original game was released in 1992, and was already rebooted once with Alone in the Dark in 2008. The most recent entry switched to a multiplayer action genre with Alone in the Dark: Illumination in 2015.
This new remake does not yet have a release window, but it is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
