Konami to streamline PES 2021
The company opts for an update to existing game, new console edition coming next year
The PES Development Team has issued a statement on their plans for Pro Evolution Soccer games in the near future.
The developers have made the decision to launch this year's PES as a "streamlined offering in the form of a season update", which means that PES 2021 will be a different experience than usual. It will also be released with a focus on current gen consoles.
PES 2021 is an updated version of last year’s title, eFootball PES 2020, providing the latest player data and club rosters. Ahead of the real-life tournament in 2021, the official UEFA EURO 2020 content will be included at launch in PES 2021.
The Standard Edition of PES 2021 will be available September 15 in physical and digital retail stores at SRP $29.99 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. For the first time, fans will be able to purchase special Club Editions of PES 2021 through digital platforms exclusively. Available for FC Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, FC Bayern and Arsenal FC, the all-new Club Editions will include unique club-specific content such as myClub squads, Iconic Moment Series players, exclusive kits, branded menus and more. The Club Editions will be available at SRP $34.99.
A 20% discount will be available when you pre-order a Club Edition of PES 2021 through eFootball PES 2020 (including LITE). In addition, for those who played myClub in eFootball PES 2020, there will be a Veteran's Bonus available with various rewards depending on the milestones achieved in-game.
That being said, a next-gen game PES 2022 is coming next year, and is being developed with an updated engine. myClub and Master League also have large updates in the works.
PES is the annual football game from Konami, and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
