Diablo IV Revealed
Darker sequel to have a shared world
The next installment in the Diablo series has been announced at BlizzCon 2019. The fourth game is planned to launch on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. No release date has been announced. During the panel the developers made it clear that the game is not coming soon.
In Diablo IV, players return to the world of Sanctuary after it has been overtaken by demons. The primary foe this time around is Lilith, the daughter of Mephisto, the lord of Hatred. The seamless open world will be shared by all players with the ability to group up and explore random dungeons. The game will have legendary sets, runes, talent trees and even personalized mounts.
J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment, said, “We’re excited to be returning to the dark, quintessential Diablo gameplay that players love while expanding the world and story in new ways, and we can’t wait for more people to be able to experience it.”
Three classes have been announced so far: The Barbarian, The Sorceress, and The Druid.
Diablo 3 released in 2012 on PC and was later ported to consoles.
