Onrush developers hit by layoffs
Disappointing sales lead to staff changes at studio
The Codemasters studio made up for ex-Evolution staff faced cuts recently, following disappointing sales of their debut title Onrush.
The PlayStation studio reponsible for Driveclub was closed two years ago by Sony, but many staff members were recruited for a new Codemasters studio to work on Onrush. However, facing poor sales of that new racing title, there have been layoffs. It is reported Paul Rustchynsky, director, and other senior members of the studio were let go.
Onrush was released at the start of June but has reportedly only sold 1,000 copies in the UK in its opening week. It was launched on Xbox One and PS4. A PC version was also planned for later, but with these layoffs, its fate is unknown.
