Boss Key Productions shuts down
Studio led by Cliff Bleszinski was unable to find a breakthrough
Cliff Bleszinski has announced that his development studio Boss Key Productions has been shut down.
In a statement on Twitter, the founder said while the studio had a great time together, their games were unable to find a large enough audience to carry the team forward.
The only release from Boss Key Productions was last year's LawBreakers, a solid shooter that was unable to gain traction with fans and released at a busy time in the genre. Their newest project, a battle royale game Radical Heights, never left early access.
Trouble was perhaps brewing when in December, Boss Key cofounder Arjan Brussee returned to his previous employer, Epic Games, to work on the mobile version of Fortnite.
Cliff Bleszinski is known as the major public face of Epic Games for many years and the man behind Gears of War. He left the company in 2012 and formed Boss Key in April of 2014.
