Co-op features detailed for Far Cry 5

In Far Cry 5, you’ll be able to play the entire campaign with a friend. After the tutorial, players can call a Friend for Hire that will appear as their own custom player character, and can fight alongside them with full voice-chat communication. Friends can share ammo and health packs. You can even enable friendly fire to shoot each other.

The player that hosts the experience will make progress in their own world. Only they can accept missions or command Guns for Hire. The joining friend will keep any cash, guns, perks, or loot they earn during the experience. The game will also keep players together by teleporting one closer to the other if the separation becomes too great. Co-op is restricted to players on your friends list and can be turned off entirely if you’d prefer to play solo.

Far Cry 5 releases on February 27, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
