New 3.0 Firmware causing game issues
Naughty Dog's original hit is having stability problems after the new update, among others
Firmware version 3.0 went live recently and brought with it dynamic themes, a redesigned friends list and new avatars. Unfortunately, the firmware update hasn't been all fun and games.
According to a fair number of users on the PlayStation.com boards, the update has caused the original Uncharted to crash or freeze almost every time the game is played. Whether this is a problem with a select group of gamers or it's nearly universal is hard to tell, but we can only hope that a fix is in the works for those affected.
We attempted to contact Sony for a comment, but a representative could not be reached. To further confirm the report though, I can say that I Myself had the game freeze twice during a few hours of gameplay over the weekend. It's the first time I had any techincal issues with the title.
