Infinity Ward developers sue Activision
Trouble is brewing as more developers leave Infinity Ward. Now 38 developers are suing Activision for $125 million in royalties and damages.
Things are going from bad to worse at Activision as a stream of developers continue to leave Infinity Ward (Call of Duty) with many joining Respawn. A new lawsuit has been filed by around 40% of the team behind the critically acclaimed Modern Warfare 2. Some of these 38 members still work at Infinity Ward.
According to the lawsuit Activision told the developers that royalties would be in the order of 2.5 times greater if West and Zampella were not fired by Activision
To date 17 employees have left the team at Infinity Ward with many of them choosing to rejoin West and Zampella at Respawn. The plaintiffs also wish to merge this new lawsuit with the initial lawsuit by West and Zampella against Activision.
