Interview with Pamela Horton from PlayBoy
Cover girl of the latest issue of PlayBoy talks with us about gaming and her career
Playboy’s newest Playmate of the Month is Pamela Horton. Aged 24 from Wichita, Kansas, she is also featured on the cover of the magazine’s October 2012 issue (on newsstands and i.playboy.com now).
The Japanese/German beauty claims to be both a multimedia artist and experienced gamer. She sells her art and handicrafts and recently launched a personal website. Most importantly, Pamela is also a gaming aficionado, and an established League of Legends player specializing with Teemo and Soraka Solo Queue.
We had a chance to interview Ms Horton about her interests, career, and of course gaming.
New Game Network: What made you decide to shoot for Playboy and how has the reaction been from family and friends?

Ms Horton: My family has been very supportive. I actually did not seek out PlayBoy, they came to me. One of their submitting photographers saw me on model mayhem and wanted to submit me for cyber girl. When he sent in my pictures his editor wanted me to come in for a playmate test shoot and that's where it all started!
New Game Network: What do you most enjoy about posing for Playboy?
Ms Horton: The professionalism and kindness. Everyone on staff is super nice and completely amazing at what they do. It was a whole new aspect of my professional modeling career and I enjoyed it immensely.
New Game Network: How much time do you have for gaming on top of modelling work?
Ms Horton: Basically when I'm at home I'm free to play (unless I have interviews!) whenever I want. When I'm not at home I'm super busy, but I always manage to make time to open my laptop or 3DS!
New Game Network: When/how did you become a gamer?
Ms Horton: I've been a gamer since I was about 5 years old. My dad had me play Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and from that point I was hooked on RPGs.

New Game Network: If you could, which League of Legends character would you be?
Ms Horton: I'd like to say Lulu. She's cute, she's purple and she turns people in to squirrels while supporting her ADC. That sounds so me!
New Game Network: What is it that draws you to MMO's, or more specifically League of Legends?
Ms Horton: The replay value. The teamwork. The versatility. You can play the same character over and over and may never be the same outcome in game. You have good games, bad games, amazing games and games that make you want to quit forever. But you always come back!
New Game Network: Have you ever taken part in gaming cosplay? Or would you consider doing a game-themed photo shoot?
Ms Horton: I've Cosplayed before but I'm much too critical of myself to be satisfied with my costume creations. It's always like,"No she wouldn't have her dress this short!" Or "This is nowhere near the right color." Because of that I've given up on costumes like Rinoa or Samus and even Link.
New Game Network: Now that you've achieved such a milestone, what is next for your career? Will you continue modelling or attempt to persue a career in gaming?
Ms Horton: I am riding this train as it chugs along! I'd love to be a Character Designer and although I have the artistic skill I don't have the necessary schooling. So being a community director or a front woman would be amazing too!
New Game Network: Thanks for your time!
