Assassin's Creed 3 will feature both offline play and a multiplayer component. The game is currently being developed by a handful of studios presumably to complete the game much faster.
Good news for Ezio fans, the sequel will continue with him as the main chracter.
"The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2." a Ubisoft Spokesman said
Assassin's Creed 3 will apparently be out by March 2011, making it a fast turnaround for the series. It's being worked on by the same studio as the second game, Ubisoft Montreal.
It was also revealed recently that Assassin's Creed 2 sold 6 million copies on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 since it's launch on 19th November 2009. A PC version for Assassin's Creed 2 is planned for release in March 2010.
