Dead Island 2 announced
California will have more zombies than usual.
Deep Silver announced Dead Island 2 today, developed by Yager (Spec Ops: The Line), it takes the Zombie apocalypse to the sunny state of California, USA. It is being developed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The game takes place months after the original game, after the US Army has put California under quarantine. This newly zombified state offers a chance to thrill seekers looking to risk it all against zombie hordes. Dead Island 2 will feature handcrafted weapons and take players from locations like the Golden Gate Bridge to the sunny beaches. It will continue the open world design of the first game.
The sequel is being built using Unreal Engine 4 and will allow up to eight player cooperative play. Distinct classes promise to provide differing gameplay, and the game will allow players to create their own hero. Dead Island 2 is scheduled to be released Spring 2015.
