Dead Rising 3 update released
New patch paves the way for DLC launch
Capcom Vancouver has released a new title update today for Dead Rising 3 before the launch of the first DLC episode, Operation Broken Eagle.
The update promises various improvements to single-player and co-op gameplay, including a variety of performance and stability upgrades, and fixes for issues related to achievements, UI updates, SmartGlass and more. Additionally, it adds a new impulse trigger feature that notifies players when they are running low on ammo.
Launching tomorrow, Operation Broken Eagle is the first episode in the DLC series. It will cost $9.99 USD and feature a new mission, five new weapons, one new combo weapon, one new vehicle, a new clothing outfit, plus additional Gamerscore. Those who purchased the Dead Rising 3 Season Pass will of course get the episode for free.
The patch is around 13GB in size because it also includes DLC content. Some fans have expressed concern that those who do not plan to purchase DLC must download it - which takes time, hits the bandwidth cap fairly heavily (as our Canadian readers will attest to), and takes up valuable hard drive space on the Xbox One.
Since the game launched last November, Dead Rising 3 players have killed more than 16 billion zombies and have logged more than 14 million hours of gameplay. The game is available exclusively on Xbox One.
