New figure swapping mechanic at the core of the new game

Activision has confirmed that Skylanders SWAP Force hits store shelves in North America today.

Skylanders SWAP Force introduces an all new play pattern – swapability - that lets players freely interchange the top and bottom halves of 16 special characters by mixing and matching their powers and moves into more than 250 unique character combinations.

The game takes players on a new adventure with 40 new collectible characters each with unique powers and personalities - 16 new SWAP Force characters, 16 core Skylanders characters and eight new LightCore characters. SWAP Force supports the entire collection of 100+ characters from Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure and Skylanders Giants.

Skylanders SWAP Force is available on Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Versions on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will also release alongside those consoles.
