Guild Wars 2 reaches one year anniversary
MMO still going strong after a big Western launch in 2012
NCSoft and ArenaNet have reminded players that Guild Wars 2 was released a year ago with some gameplay stats and infographic.
According to developers, Guild Wars 2 ranks as the all-time fastest-selling Western MMORPG in Europe and North America, with territorial sales topping more than 3 million in the first nine months of availability. This claim only counts for debuts of an MMO, thus the expansions to World of Warcraft, who easily best this record, aren't considered.
An infographic titled The First Year of Guild Wars 2 by the Numbers has also been released. The image boasts total sales of 3.5 million, with over 460k concurrent players. Humans are the most popular race to play as by far with 36% of players, while the most popular class is Warrior with 16%.
Guild Wars 2 was released on PC in August 2012.
