EA introduces Origin Great Game Guarantee

New policy allows players to return a game within a certain period if they don't enjoy it

Posted on

Electronic Arts has announced a new policy for its digital distribution platform Origin, that allows users to return any game purchased if they are not satisfied with it.

The Origin Great Game Guarantee allows you to return EA full game downloads (PC or Mac) purchased on Origin for a full refund if you are not satisfied with the game for any reason. The catch is that this only applies within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from when you purchased it, or within the first seven days after the game's release date if you pre-ordered it (whichever of these conditions happens first).

Requesting a refund can be completed by visiting your order history and clicking the “request a refund” link next to your recent purchase, and answer a few quick questions.

There is some fine print, of course, to prevent abuse so players should check the complete terms before filing a return.

The Origin Great Game Guarantee is effective as of today in 20 countries, and will be rolling out worldwide over the next few weeks. EA claims everyone will be covered by the Origin Great Game Guarantee by the end of September.
